On the power of passion
Stepping into the unknown was terrifying. Yet, here I am, standing in my passion era, proof that the leap of faith is worth it.

The past two weeks have been WILD! I've always believed in the power of closing one door to open another, but never could I have imagined the opportunities that awaited me on the other side.
ICYMI, my first big announcement was that my husband and I are now the proud owners of a beloved local Pilates reformer business, MNTSTUDIO. It might seem out of the blue for some, but here's the thing – fitness, especially Pilates, has been a passion of mine forever. In fact, I taught fitness classes for several years from college through my early 20s. Despite having to give up teaching due to the demands of my full-time job, my love for group fitness never waned. Fast forward to a chance meeting with Elaine Hayes, the founder of MNTSTUDIO, at a Women in Business panel in 2019, and the rest, as they say, is history. When Elaine offered us this incredible opportunity, it felt like the stars had aligned. This wasn't just a business venture; it was a chance to tie our professional lives to a passion that we both enjoyed together (for context: my husband and I always do a pilates reformer class together when we travel).
The second piece of news? The launch of The New Modern Mom Podcast. This project is my heart and soul poured into audio form. It's not just any parenting or career advice podcast; it's a collection of personal stories and raw insights for ambitious moms trying to juggle it all. Born out of a personal need for guidance on how to blend career ambitions with motherhood, this podcast aims to fill that void with real discussions. Each episode will feature conversations with women who are actively managing high-powered careers and family life, offering you strategies, tools, and, most importantly, a sense of community.
On reflecting over the past two weeks, I can’t help but go back to the fear I felt when pivoting my career last year. To step into the unknown was terrifying. Yet, here I am, standing in my passion era, proof that the leap of faith is worth it. The sale of the Pilates studio was a long and arduous process, and the timing of these two announcements colliding was not intended… trust me, it pushed me to my absolute limit and forced me to break old habits. However, it's taught me a valuable lesson – passion is an unmatched motivator, a force that propels us forward, even when the path is unclear.
To those of you worried about closing a door behind you, remember the first steps may seem paralyzing, but they are also where the magic happens.
