On living abroad this summer
Imagine a study abroad program, but for families, including school for the kids and coworking for the adults. We’re doing it this summer in Portugal.

Jason and I have always dreamed of living abroad. Anytime we’ve traveled, our conversations inevitably turn to what it would be like to live there full time. There’s just something magical about immersing yourself in a new culture and environment.
In April 2023, I came across Boundless Life, a program that sounded too good to be true. The premise: a bunch of digital nomad families living in one destination, kids going to school together, working in a coworking space, with housing and community events all figured out. It was like a dream come true.
After spending three weeks in Italy right after Willow was born, we had been plotting a month-long part-work, part-vacation trip to Europe with the kids. The Boundless Life program seemed like the perfect way to lighten the mental load of organizing housing, childcare, airport transfers and a work environment while enjoying European life. So, we got on a call with Boundless Life and were pretty much sold on Sintra, Portugal. The only hiccup? No availability in the upcoming summer cohort.
If you know me, you know that long-term planning is not something I shy away from. Convinced that this was the right experience for us, we went ahead and booked two 4-week cohorts back-to-back for the summer of 2024. Now, over a year later, our trip is finally within reach, just one month away.
If living abroad as a family has ever crossed your mind, I highly recommend looking into this genius program. They offer three-month cohorts throughout the year and one-month cohorts during July, August, and December. Despite being only two years old as a business, they've consistently sold out and expanded to new locations.
Right now, they have spots in Sintra, Portugal; Tuscany, Italy; Syros, Greece; Kotor, Montenegro; and Bali. Plus, more locations are coming soon in Spain and Latin America (we may or may not have already book Spain for next summer 😬). The education is tailored to ages 1 to 14 and based on the Finnish Curriculum. And the customer service has been amazing so far.
I cannot wait to share more about our experience in Sintra with you very soon. I know it's going to be full of core memory-making moments. If you have the ability to work remotely, or if you have the courage to ask your work for a few short weeks remote, even if that means working East Coast hours (this is what Jason is doing), I highly recommend you jump on this opportunity like we did.
If you’re curious to learn more or ready to book for your family, I've got a generous discount of €400 for my community! Just use code NEWMODERNMOM during the booking process!
P.S. I have a big announcement coming Monday 👀 Any guesses?
